In a game of runs, it was the South Medford panthers who came up with the biggest runs of the game.
After starting on a 14-0 run by the Panthers (10-5 overall, 3-0 league), Grants Pass (10-5 overall, 1-2 league) surged back to take a halftime lead of 26-19.
And that’s where things would change. South Medford came out on fire. After a 2-11 performance from the arc in the first half, the panthers would make 8 of their next 11 from the distance. The panthers would assist on 14 of their 23 makes from the field.
Sophomore guard Boden howell lead the charge for South Medford. Making a huge impact defensively as well as dishing out 9 assists for the panthers. Junior guard Jackson weiland scored 19 for the panthers
The panthers also got huge contributions from Deacon Edgar who finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds, and Cameron Sewell scored 16.
The Panthers next play at North Medford, Tuesday, January 24th.
