South Medford Lady Panthers took on the South Eugene Axe tonight in a lopsided win 62-12.
Credit to South Eugene girls for playing hard the whole game, and never quitting. Rowan Davis led the Axe with 5 points and 5 rebounds.
South Medford played deep in their lineup tonight. Although limited in play, Donovyn Hunter(4pts, 5 reb, 2 steals, and 2 assists) and Tatum Schmerbach (7pts, 4 reb, 2 steals, and 2 assists) contributed in all areas tonight. Kendall Fealey led the starters in scoring with 10 points, and Kim Cerón contributed 8 points.
South Medford was led overall in scoring by freshman center, Mayen Akpan. She put up 16 points and brought in 10 rebounds, securing her first double-double in her high school career.
South Medford gear up for conference rival Sheldon on Friday night.
