Nia Collins advanced to the 60-meter hurdles final and finished eighth place to lead Southern Oregon’s efforts Saturday at the Whitworth Indoor Invitational on the second and final day of the meet.
Collins ran the hurdles prelims in 9.19 seconds, the fifth-best time out of 32 entries. She clocked in at 9.49 in the final.
Emma Baeth added another eight-place finish in the women’s mile, pacing three Raiders and completing the 56-person race in 5:15.61.
Cade O’Connor was sharp on the men’s side, placing ninth of 44 in the 400 with a time of 50.21 seconds. He was also 46th of 85 in the 60-meter prelims in 7.35.
In the 48-person women’s 400, SOU’s India Ortiz (1:00.26) was 16th, Nia Collins (1:00.76) 20th and Aayzia Dumas (1:01.95) 25th.
