Diane Garrison-Moore was born in Butte Falls at home. She was proceeded in death by her father Oakie Garrison, Bernice Garrison and her son Wes Moore. Also by her brother Bob Garrison and her sister Dorothy Hutton. It is with the greatest sadness that I need to tell the world we lost the most amazing women who graced my life. She has been my rock, my teacher, my friend, my inspiration.
My Aunt Diane Garrison-Moore Tharp lost her battle on Friday the 13th. She was born a fighter who fought many battles in her life. Born as a free spirit in Butte Falls, Ore, she brought magic to all the lives she touched.
When young the family moved to Happy Camp, CA where she was still in her element, climbing mountain, swimming in creeks, laughing as she went. People in Medford, will remember the blind lady that would ride her horse in down town Medford. She would go visit her Mom, or travel to Quail Run Ranch. She was a professional horse trainer and breeder, blinded by a horse when young, she never lost her love for them. She could make her stallion quiver by raising her voice. She was known in Southern Oregon as the Horse Whisper, she took in damaged broke beaten horse and helping them regain the joy for life. Horses were her life and love. Her husband of 35 years gave her every dream she had, he built her a kingdom. Her kingdom was built on a fat board with Legos and he had what was in her mind come to life. Her love for life was present in all things she touched.
Her love for her family was boundless. Please keep her family in your heart and mind and pray for the peace we all need.
