In a rivalry matchup at North Medford, South Medford (11-5 overall, 4-0 league) was able to overcome a comeback bid by North (4-12 overall, 2-3 league) to come away with a SWC win.

South Medford used a strong first half to take a halftime lead of 33-22. The panthers assisted on 11 of their first 14 baskets from the field. Junior guard Jackson Weiland dished out 7 assists in the first half.

But Coach Plankenhorn and his Black Tornado would turn things around in the second half. Led by a 4th quarter run by Junior Wing Houston Klug, the Black Tornado pushed the game to single digits, and eventually to a 1 point game with just seconds to go. With a chance to tie the game, North Medford couldn’t get the shot to fall, and South was able to pull away at the foul line with the tough victory.

For South Medford, Sophomore Boden Howell lead all scores with 16, Senior Cameron Sewell chipped in 12 and Junior Jackson Weiland had 7 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists.

For North Medford, Junior Houston Klug scored 12, Senior Antonio Orozco scored 11, and Junior Andrew Plankenhorn scored 10.
