At South Medford, the Panthers (12-5, 5-0 league) rallied behind a huge first half spark by senior Deacon Edgar to defeat Willamette 87-53 in SWC league game.
Deacon Edgar scored 14 of his career high 17 points in the first half, in which, sparked a 28-7 run in the second quarter to give South Medford a 43-23 halftime lead.
The Panthers would outscore the Wolverines a combined 53-25 in the second and third quarters. Shooting 65% from the field, the Panthers put on their best offensive display of the season thus far. Going 31/48 from the floor and 11/20 from behind the arc, the Panthers took that hot shooting to extend their win streak to 6 games. Junior guard Jackson Weiland scored 27 points, and Sophomore Boden Howell chipped in 22.
The Panthers now stand 5-0 in conference league play, with a big week coming up next week against South Eugene, 11th ranked West Salem, and Sheldon (who’s tied for second place in the SWC)
