The South Medford girls defense absolutely dominated North Medford in the first half of Tuesday’s SWC clash. The Panthers held the Black Tornado to three first quarter points and then shut them out completely in the second quarter en route to a 28-3 halftime lead. The North offense finally got untracked in the third, scoring ten points, but South countered with 24 of their own, taking a 52-13 lead into the fourth quarter, putting the game away. South went on to win by a 57-18 final score. Donovan Hunter led the Panthers with 17 points, Sara Schmerbach and Kim Ceron added eight points each. Ali Stevens led the Tornado scoring with seven points.
