Congratulations Gabbi Urban!
Southern Oregon Grapevine’s March 30, 2023 Athlete of the Week!
Gabbi Urban is our Athlete of the Week for the week of March 30. She is a junior softball pitcher for North Medford High School. She was nominated for her performance against Bend in the first game of the year. Gabbi pitched a complete game allowing only one run and four hits and came out on top of a great pitcher’s duel against one of the top pitchers in the state. Gabbi received 5,166 total votes and 54.42% of the total votes cast.
Head Coach Chris Campbell had this to say about Gabbi’s performance earning this honor:
“The first game of the season is always exciting but knowing you are playing against one of the best pitchers in the nation for the class of 2024 adds a little more spice. That was the case when North Medford pitcher Gabbi Urban took the circle. She had this day marked on her calendar for several months and was looking forward to the match up. With Gabbi working in the circle to keep the Bend Hitters off balance and the help of her team mates in scoring a few runs she was able to get the victory. It was a total team effort for this first game of the year.”
