Cascade Christian 85
Amity 36

In their second round 3A state playoff game, as has been the pattern lately, Cascade Christian steadily put some distance between themselves and their opponent in the first half and then put them completely away with a hot third quarter. The Challengers outscored the Amity Warriors 39-18 in the first half then hung up 30 points in the third quarter to put the game on ice. Austin Maurer sent notice to the rest of the state by scoring 12 of his 26 points in the pivotal third period and logged a staggering ten blocks in the game. Cascade Christian cruised home from there to take the game by a 85-36 score. The Challengers will now travel to Marshfield High School where the final eight 3A teams will vie for the state championship. Cascade Christian will begin their quest for a second consecutive state title Thursday night at 6:30 against third-seeded Dayton High School. For the game, Maurer had seven rebounds to go along with his 26 points and ten blocks, Drew Hall finished with 15 points, ten assists, 5 rebounds and four steals and Jaren Fronckowiak chipped-in with 17 points for the Challengers.
